The new landscape — play it smart
Two big shifts changed recruiting recently, and a smart family plans around them:
- ●Roster limits — football rosters were cut to 105, so there are fewer spots and more competition. Being “pretty good” isn’t enough; be undeniable, and be flexible on level.
- ●Money & NIL at the college level — real, but earned and regulated (see the NIL course). Don’t pick a school chasing a promise; pick the place that develops you and where you’ll actually play.
Coach Fite
Don’t let anybody sell your kid a dream with a dollar sign on it. The right school is the one that makes him better and lets him play. Everything else — the money, the next level — comes from being good and being eligible. Same as it ever was.
The bottom line
Be undeniable on film, verified in your numbers, eligible in the classroom, and realistic about level. Run the process early and wide. That’s the roadmap.
